P. Mark Accettura, Elder Law Attorney AV Peer Review Rated
Mark specializes in the areas of elder law, estate planning, estate and trust administration, Medicaid planning, Aid and Attendance Veteran’s planning, and family inheritance dispute resolution. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oakland University in 1977, his law degree from the University of Detroit/Mercy in 1981, and his Master of Laws Degree (LL.M. in taxation) in 1982 from New York University School of Law.
Mark was adjunct professor at the University of Detroit/Mercy School of Law from 1984 to 1994, where he taught courses on income taxation, estate, gift tax, pensions and employee benefits. Mark is a frequent lecturer on estate planning topics and is an author of three books: - The Michigan Estate Planning Guide, Collinwood Press, 1999; - Lost and Found: Finding Self-Reliance After the Loss of a Spouse, Collinwood Press, 2001; and - Medicaid and Long Term Care in Michigan: Getting Good Care Without Going Broke, Collinwood Press, 2005.
Mark’s fourth book, Inheritance and Family Conflict will be published in 2008. Mark hosted Law Talk, a one-hour public access television show in 37 cities in southeastern Michigan from 1994 to 1999. Mark’s guests on the show included judges, legislators and other legal policy makers.
